Copperhead Grille - Allentown, NOT gun friendly!

We met Headcase and NineSeven tonight at the Copperhead Grille on Airport Rd. in Allentown tonight for dinner.

Sat down and the waiter (pretty young kid) started rattling off beer and specials (and 52" TV that are ALWAYS playing sports) like he had just drank a gallon of coffee. We order drinks and appetizers all while this kid talked faster than a freight train.

He brought the drinks and bread and we commenced to drinking and talking. About 2 minutes later a man strolled over to the table and introduced himself as the owner. We told him his waiter REALLY needed to slow down. As soon as we were done telling him that he says "I'm sorry but we don't allow firearms in here". I asked him if that was corporate policy (assuming they were a chain) or his policy to which he replied "I'm the owner" ... I looked across the table at Joe, over to Jason and stood up and walked out.

On a good note, we drove one block north to a place called Chess & Checkers, were greeted nicely by the owner and our waitress, guns and all.

At one point Tootie and I went out for a smoke (yeah we haven't completely quit yet) ... a family was walking towards the door and the father says (right in front of the owner BTW) "I guess this place is gun friendly" as he hikes his shirt to show his concealed Glock. Told him "yup but stay away from the Copperhead Grille" and explained what happened.

Had a GREAT meal there, everything was excellent and we sat there BS'ing for three hours.

So if you are in the area and want a meal try Chess & Checkers, then stop by the Copperhead and show them the money they lost because they are anti-gun.

Oh and BTW, there's no posting on their business.

I have in the past OC in the Copperhead. Maybe because there was more than one of you.

I have also not had a problem at the new Mexican restaurant next to the Sams Club. Right across the street from Checkers.

Another good place to go in that shopping center is they Gyro place. It looks onto Airport Road. The owner is on our township board and has assisted with getting rid of an ordinance that violates preemption.

There were only two of us OC, Tootie and I. We honestly think the waiter was in a panic about the guns (hence the fast talking) and went and said something to the owner ... and straight from his mouth was "we don't allow firearms in here"

Then again Joe made a good point, if the waiter hadn't been staring at Tootie's tits he wouldn't have noticed the gun.

Wow, that type of thing is extremely rare in Lehigh Valley, and I've never run into it anywhere.

Jokes aside, "Copperhead Grill?" Never heard of it, and I don't like the sound of places that serve food being named after poisonous snakes.
