    Default Taurus "Judge"

I just saw this in the jan. issue of Guns & Ammo. Is this the first of its kind ?? Or, are there other pistols that also shoot shotgun rounds. If so, would this be considered "carriable" on the street ? To have the option of a .45, and a .410 shot shell.....thats pretty cool.

Shot it the 410 has a bad kick the manages to catch the hand. Also its only two shots and then you must reload

The one I saw said to carry 5 shots. Maybe I read wrong. Next trip to the "can" I'll have to look again

The Judge is a revolver, I think larry was referring to some of the 45/410 derringers that are out there.

I have had my eye on a Judge ever since I saw it on Personal Defense TV, it looks like a lot of fun to plink with, and loaded with 410 buckshot effective for PD. It only holds 2 1/2" shells I am sure someone makes a magnum in that size but, I haven't looked around for em yet.

I own 2 and like them alot. They're a blast to shoot. Can shoot .410 birdshot, .410 Buckshot, or 45 Long Colt (wouldn't shoot the heavy +P's in them though). There are alot of opinions on how/what to load for firepower; as a snake/general purpose load mine shot, buckshot (3 pellets of 000 in 1 shell), buckshot, 45 LC 45 LC. There are several threads on this site which talk about the judge, as does the box o' truth.

For me, it's a great field/car/home defense gun. I wouln't use it for CCW--it's too big, there are better options, and the shot pattern spreads out quite quickly. For shot, basically I think it unusable outside of 10 yards or so.

Anyway, a great and fun gun to shoot, as long as you give some thought to its limitations and purpose.

I was under impression that .410shot that is suitable for personal defence is hard to find?
