    Default S&W 5904

Just picked one up. The price was right. I have an entire spring kit on the way and a spare mag. Anything I should be looking for? I probably won't get out to shoot it for about 2 weeks. So that should give me enough time to go over it with a fine-toothed comb. Any info or opinions would be helpful. Thanks.

I carried a 5906 on duty for about ten years in the late 80"s...thousands of rounds through it...one broken extractor...not a bad track record.

Mag springs may be needed as well as they do wear out and cause stoppages. The third generation smith and wesson autos are fantastic weapons, Buy more ammo and have at it...

+5% mag spring in the kit for the original mag. New mag should be fine for a while. I am more a 9mm fan than S&W fan, but I couldn't pass it up. I can go ahead and sell my Witness Compact Steel now that I have something to take the preasure off my P228. I like having the decocker on the gun. Everything but the Witness and my 1911s are decockers. At the least it would make a good gun for my students.
