what happens if someone is denied for a gun purchase?

if someone is denied for a gun purchase is there any follow up paperwork involved that needs to be signed?

You mail in for a reversal appeal. Its a form that the dealer/sheriff will give you to fill out. You'll provide your personal info, and if you know of anything that may be questionable - a defense to it or justification**.

**Example: You were arrested for a felony years ago, charges were dismissed, but you never filed to have the arrest removed from your record - you provide what info you can to show that you aren't convicted and the charges were dismissed.

Once you provide all your info, and if there is something that you need to explain - you mail the form to the PA St. Police address that is provided. ...then wait. You only have X number of days to file the appeal.

where would i go or a website I could look on to find out all the reasons that would deny someone from purchasing a firearm?
I had applied back in July and was denied. Someone notified me that I had to sign some follow up papers because of my denial. It sounded a litttle fishy. So I was curious as to what my signature is needed for...any clues?
