US Army Ammunition Data Sheets
If anyone is interested here is a link to the 1994 edition of the Army Tech Manual TM-43-0001-27, which is the Army ammunition data sheets for small caliber ammo.
http://www.kmike.com/Ammo/tm%2043-0001-27.pdf
It covers just about any and all ammo used from .22 up to 30mm....performance and load data (and the powders they used!), it also has all the color codes on the projectiles listed for each round.
The nice thing is this manual not only has current ammo but it has all the old stuff....Garand (.30-06) and .45 ammo....even .30 carbine.
This is a PDF, it is pretty big, about 200 pages size is almost 9 MB.
Hope somebody can use this..."Disperse you Rebels! Damn you! Throw down your Arms and Disperse!" British Major Pitcairn at Lexington April 19, 1775

Thank you!
"X is what percentage of Y?" Divide the first number by the second, multiply the answer by 100. Add a percent sign. Think.

Re: US Army Ammunition Data Sheets
Just remember this when looking at this Army TM, both the older copper units pressure and the newer transducer method are both still read as pounds per square inch. "BUT" to simplify pressure readings the copper units pressure is written as CUP and the transducer method is written as psi
Bottom line the Army TM uses the copper units pressure for its pressure taking method but lists the result as psi as the Army has done since it starting using this method. In other words its pounds per square inch using the copper crusher method.
50,000 cup = 60,000 psi transducer method.
The point being the American SAAMI and the European CIP conceder the .308 and 7.62 NATO to be the same cartridge at the same pressure.
