Independence Hall clarification?
Read some 2 year old threads re: carry at Independence Hall/Liberty Bell. No resolution as to carrying inside the buildings per the federal building vs. National parks issue.
I have to go there with my patient on Monday (and Franklin Institute, which is CC ok), and need to know if I have to disarm myself in order to enter the cradle of American Liberty.
Anyone have new and relevant info? The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but believe me, it's on the damned list.

Re: Independence Hall clarification?
So long as you are on the OUTSIDE... you are fine. If You are entering the Liberty Bell building, even though the security screening is enough of a joke that you are unlikey to be caught, you're still breaking the federal law. So yeah, you're going to need to secure it outside.

And are lockers provided, or do I walk through the valley with neither rod nor staff?

Re: Independence Hall clarification?
The National Parks legislation (Feb '10?) ONLY affects regulations promulgated by the Dept of the Interior in National Parks and Wildlife areas. It does not in any way affect 18 USC 930 which prohibits weapon possession inside Federal facilities (buildings tat are duty stations of Federal employees).
Note that 930(h) requires ALL such areas to be property signed. No signs = no conviction.IANAL

Re: Independence Hall clarification?
The building that houses the liberty bell has signs for no firearms

Park buildings are labeled with No Firearms sign, and show the statute making them prohibited.
You can carry outside all you want, but you can't set foot in ANY federal building with a firearm.
