Can I open carry a loaded gun in Delaware?

Hey Guys I am currently working in Wilmington, and wanted to know if I could open carry in my Truck? I know in De. you can open carry, and only want to keep my glock in the truck. I don't go right home after work most days and would love to be able to carry after work.

If you're going to do this often, get a nonresident license that provides reciprocity with Delaware. Most of the common ones (FL, VA, UT, AZ) will cover you there.

I think there is (1) city/town(Dover?) in Delaware that open carry requires a license via a grandfathered law. You might want to look into that before carrying. Other than that place, unlicensed open carry is legal in DE. So is vehicle transporting too, however I think you may have to properly display the gun where other motorists can see it(like on the dash, on a rack in the rear window, etc).

If you spend a lot of time in DE I'd suggest trying to get an AZ or other permit recognized in DE as a precaution.

Ding ding ding! Winner! Short answer, yes, and you're not alone

Just had to look all this stuff up around Feb, I'm working down in Milton area. Dover is the only city that is off-limits without a license, similar to how we have Philthy. In vehicles they recommend placing your gun on either the dash or your passenger seat. Like others have stated, it's rather simple to just get a Utah or Arizona license just to cover you as well because if you ever need to come down here to the south for anything you basically HAVE to go through Dover unless you plan on taking a good many random farm roads (which you also would have to watch out for Maryland border).
