Default Just Installed a Police Trigger Sear Spring in HD Remington 870

I’m quite happy tonight having just installed a police grade trigger sear spring in one of our home defense Remington 870 pump shotguns

This is a 7-8 pound heavy-duty spring bought from the Remington Country store along with some other SG parts. The trigger now has a positive, solid and crisp feel instead of the mushy undefined draw of the original. Also picked up a ratchet detent style magazine cap. This cap locks down on the detent ball of the 18.5 riot barrel as it should.

Within various discussion forums, there’s endless talk about people needing to use plumbers blue tape on the magazine tube end threads of their Remington 870 shotgun. The fix job is suggested for keeping a non-detent ball type magazine cap from working it’s way loose.

The correct magazine cap, police grade heavy sear along with mag spring are simple to install upgrades that make a noticeable difference.

Huh? Blue plumber's tape for sealing pipe threads is the only color I've ever seen. Have three of four rolls of the stuff around here and it's all blue.

When those people on discussion boards mentioned it . . . the tape was described as "blue".

But . . .since I use it on neither plumbing or shotgun magazine tube end threads, it can be purple for all I care.

how hard was it to install the sear spring? I have been holding off on replacing the sear spring in my SG because I have heard it can be a difficult job.

I are a idiot with ten thumbs, no gunsmith knowledge and did it in about ten-minutes or less. Just look at the old spring and put the new one in the same place.
