Thanks, I'm glad I can head to a state that still mostly has it head screwed on straight, unlike NY which has gone bat shit crazy to the left.

    Hi all,
I'm in Kane and do a lot of handgun shooting. I have a decent spot on some private land I am allowed to use. The downside is that its up a logging road and it would take a bulldozer to get in there right now. Can't wait til the snow melts.

jonsey - the Kane Fish and Game Club membership is $15 per year, they have pistol target frames and 100 and 200yd targets. You can usually drive right up to the shooting bench of your choice.

2 months or less to go! I can't wait, I have a question on my LTCF, after I apply and am granted the LTCF does the commonwealth require me to register and list my handguns/pistols on my LTCF like they require here in NY? where it lists all the firearms that I own(handguns) Also definitely looking for folks to shoot with after I move!

    No.
You can carry whatever handgun you want, and as many as you want.
    No registering.

Let us know how your ltcf process goes. We have an acting sheriff, and I'm curious how he is handling things. You should just walk right out the door with it.

I definitely will, how long does it take for me to establish residency once i'm relocated? and what requirements are there?(say to go to a drivers license center, etc.)

Take a utility bill / bank statement with new address , and a birth certificate a and NY drivers license to PA DL center.

Presto - you be a resident.

There is NO registration of guns in PA

The PA state police does maintain an illegal " sales database" of people and guns they know about.

New purchases through a gunstore get run through the state cops and they keep the data.

Handguns must be purchased through a FFL. This data goes to the police.

Long guns can be sold face to face without involving the police. You can't buy/ sell from prohibited people too young, felons etc.

The guns you bring from NY cannot be registered, since there is no "registration"

However, if Officer Friendly pulls you over and you are legally carrying your pistol that is not in their database - you're gonna play heck getting it back.

My carry guns are all in their database. Yours should be also, if you want the peace of mind.

ljj where are you moving? I was just in McKean Co sheriff's for my LTCF renewal two weeks ago. The deputy took my wife and me while two other guys who were ahead of us were waiting for their clearances. I didn't realize it but mine actually ran out but you have a grace period in PA. In and out in 15 minutes. We used our PA D/L as photo ID. The sheriff's office is in the county jail, go in the front doors and turn right. Signs say no weapons no cameras no cell phones but they do allow cell phones in the sheriff's office. I locked my weapon in the car.

Warren Co, from what my friends say, calls the two contacts on your application first and then has you come back to get your license.
