Austrian Plastic
Found this Steyr M9-A1 at a local gun shop. Often compared to a Glock it is
more like a customized older brother. All you have to do is pick it up to tell the
difference. It just FEELS right in your hand. The designer ( who use to work for
Glock) made some changes that really improved the point-ability.
The changed grip angle, scooped out thumb area, "Winter" style trigger guard
and short trigger pull make it fun to shoot and very accurate.
I was warned beforehand that the Triangular sights
would take some getting use to. They are strange at first. Almost Alien. But it only
took the first 15 round mag before I was grouping in a 6" circle at 30' standing.
Definitely a Keeper!

Re: Austrian Plastic
its almost like a cross between a glock and a sig, with that safety trigger and takedown lever. I have an old steyr GB and its a great gun. I am sure you will enjoy this one. They seem to be somewhat rare, I havent seen one at any of the local shops.

Re: Austrian Plastic
Nice gun!
I got to shoot a friends and was impressed with it. I read they are back importing into the States again with a "better trigger" although the trigger on my friends was good so I don't know what "better" means. Best of luck with yours.

Re: Austrian Plastic
My dad has one in 40S&W. Heck of a sidearm. I really like it a lot. One you get used to the sights IMO you'll get faster target acquasion than square sights. From what I'm told Styer also has these sight pattened.

Re: Austrian Plastic
I have only held the older model in .40. They newer ones I would like to try as they did change the grip and rail as well as a few other small things.
That being said, I liked the older one enough to want to get a look at a newer one.
As mentioned by the OP. The pointability is definitely there. The thin and low slide with the grip angle makes the gun a natural feeling weapon. And if I happen across one in 9mm some day for a decent price. I would have a hard time not picking one up.

Re: Austrian Plastic
Like the looks of that Steyr. I have a GB and it has the most awful trigger I have ever encountered. I have big hands and the stretch to the trigger took a while. I think that Steyr might be worth owning...it just looks right.
