New Sons of Guns Season - 1000 yard AK?

Just saw the commercial while watching Deadliest Catch ... season opener for Sons of Guns tomorrow night ... a 1000 yard AK.

Seriously? This I HAVE to see.

Beats the shit out of me bud. We all know I LOVE my AKs but 1000 yards? Like I said before THIS I have to see.

Here's my prediction:

1. milled receiver
2. Different barrel (maybe an RPK barrel?)
3. ???????

again ... a 1000 yard AK? Really?

I like the show but I take it for what it is, tv entertainment.

Hmmm, I'm not saying it can't be done, but I don't really get the point. Like others have said, I guess entertainment value, and so many people's fascination/obsession with AK-47's. After you throw a Krieger barrel on it, match grade trigger, different buttstock, etc, there's not much "AK" left. As others suspect, it probably won't be chambered in 7.62x39 either. I'm guessing even if it is "accurate", it won't have the slop that helps AK's with their reliability. So it still won't be nearly as reliable as what it might have been. At that point I don't know why you aren't shooting a match grade M1A or an AR-10. Oh well, something to do I guess.
