    HK USP45C or a Beretta Cougar 8045 would be good choices in 45. Both can be had for $500-600 in good used condition, aren't too thick or heavy for CC and are dead nuts reliable. Just my $0.02.

    In DA/Sa i'd recommend one of these, 28 ozs. empty and dead nuts reliable and accurate, in sa/ id recommend a 1911 commander type like this para ltc.

    There is always the option of the Glock 30/36 I believe. If I remember right, the 30 is the 10+1 and the 36 is the slimmer 6+1. Both are .45 ACP.
