Re: Barrel shortening. (psl)
The kits from Apex come with the original saw-cut barrel pieces. You can also find a basic CAD drawing for the barrel online. The extractor cut for the 7.62x54r is quite complex, not nearly as simple as a regular AK barrel.
Research Prexis before sending your money order. I've not dealt with him/them, but have read enough to know that I don't want to.

Re: Barrel shortening. (psl)
I would ask that you take the link down to prevent more REAL frustration. As in, the people who have purchased these, as well as any parts from BHA have never received their goods. It's been months of excuses. And run around. There are more than a few threads on AK files discussing this. If you want to post your own thread about this stuff, go ahead. But I really don't want anyone else to get "taken" on account of a discussion I was having at some point. The stuff in theory looks great. But it's vaporware.
DSMLAB also makes the SVD handguard retainers and also has delivered on time, goods promised if you really want SVD stuff on your PSL.
On a side note. Back when they were confederated arms or whatever. I purchased that modified SVD stock and the fitment was poor. Their trunion adapter was not great. I removed all of that and sold it.
