Default First time encounter Toys R Us Exton

I have been OCing for over two years now and had my first encounter. It happened at the Exton Toys R Us today. A female employee I suspect is a manager asked me to leave citing company policy. I am not typically a confrontational person, plus with all the kids and parents close by I was concerned she would create a scene knowing even though I would not make a scene. Also I am in her store not outside so I respected her right to ask. I am sure others will have a problem with me not standing up to her, but I also feel that respecting her right shows her that we OCer's are a stand up group understanding of her situation of upholding company policy. I personally will not be going back there to shop. I will be writing to corporate to verify their policy.

That is their policy and they have signs outside of all their stores.

If the Toys R Us in Exton hasn't changed from the way I remember when I lived nearby, I would avoid it at almost all costs. It always felt shady and their prices were horrible. Even at age six I could feel that!

The Toys R Us company is very outspoken anti-gun, and it's common knowledge that all stores are required by policy to post "no firearms" or "no weapons" signs. We could get into whether signs have force of law in PA, but that's beat to death elsewhere. In the end, I have to think that the employee that approached you acted well, since it's safe to assume she was polite about it and didn't call the cops right away, since such mentions are lacking in your OP. If she was polite about it, which I'm an optimist enough to believe, I might say she did a good job.

And judging by the stories I've heard of the Downingtown and Exton PDs from officers halfway across the state, congrats on OCing in that area!

That wouldn't be a problem as they don't sell any type of toy gun...
