Seriously? Your recommendation is to go trespass on someone's property and set up your own makeshift range? Doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

OP, sorry I can't help. I know of a 1000 yard range, but it's in central, not nepa.

There maybe private ranges of that length, but I don't know of any public ranges that can handle 500-600yds. I usually go to coal pits to do my blasting and longer range shooting. As long as you clean up and don't bother any equipment they don't mind you shooting there.

again, like kramer said, coal pits, power lines......know the property your on and know what lies behind your target/backstop. I would never recommend trespassing anywhere.
In NEPA these are your only long range areas to shoot. Most places are known to the locals as "safe to shoot" spots.

If you can make do with a 300 yd range, there's one between Jim Thorpe and Weatherly. I believe that it is on state gamelands.

If you are travelling north on Rt. 93 from Jim Thorpe, once you crest the hill, the entrance to it will be about a mile on your left.

Pike County, there is a powerline that crosses Rt 402 & runs thru State Forest,

Just b/4 Porters Lake turn left on Pine Flats road and go back till you can turn right on High Line road and you will run into it.
