Default Looking for a CLONE of S&W M-18 .22 revolver?

    Hello all,

Was looking for a S&W M-15 4" like I futtzed with in the USAF, but realizing I can't afford the plinking costs of .38SPL, figured I'd look for the .22LR version...

    YEEEowza - $6-7XX.00; that's lo-end 1911 or AR-15 money.

So - any worthy AFFORDABLE clones of the Model 18 .22LR that I could find to duplicate the feel and handling?

A Charter, Taurus, Ruger, some obscure brand like Rexio, obsolete High Standard?

    Thanks!

Based on my limited personal experience, you may easily find a clone that duplicates the look, but duplicating the feel of an older S&W for smoothness of action, fit and finish, is going to be nigh on impossible. I am sure there are those who will disagree with me, but I have handled enough in the way of revolvers to know why older Smiths command the prices they do. Heck, some of the newer offerings of Smith and Wesson don't even come up to them!

Why not learn to load your own? Lead bullet .38 re-loads are pretty inexpensive, and then you have a real gun for home defense etc, when loaded with the high priced spread.

Look for the K22, Or model 17,, You will find one eventually for 400 or so.
Same as model 15 but 6" barrel.
