looking for a range
Hello all,
I am looking for a pistol range in the area that has moving or reactive targets. Basically just something other than a stationary paper target. If anyone knows of someplace, let me know whatever information is available please!

Re: looking for a range
You generally have to bring your own, and get permission to set them up.
Or chip in with other range members and buy a set that can be kept there.
I don't think I have ever seen a range that has reactive targets by default.==============
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!”
~Samuel Adams

Re: looking for a range
For that you might have to go west, Arizona, New Mexico etc. they seem to be all out that way.
Most Ranges dont allow it because you might shoot yourself or someone else, heck most ranges dont even allow you to draw from a holster .

Re: looking for a range
I have a private range with reactive targets.
Steel target go down and pop back up when you hit them. I have even experimented with trying a bucket to rope and shooting it while the bucket was being pulled. You can draw from the holster and do rapid fire. You can even move while shooting down range if you are the only one shooting.
I will send you a PM.Last edited by tsafa; July 11th, 2011 at 01:07 PM.

Join IDPA and start going to shoots. You can draw, shoot on the move, shoot moving /reactive targets. Most shoots are between $10/$20. In fact you don't even have to join to go to the first shoot. Blue Ridge Cherry Valley is either in Monroe county or close and they have a match every month. You could even look into joining that club. If you want to check out IDPA the web site is:
www.idpa.com
Here is the web site with a list of all the clubs in the area that has shoots:
www.nepaidpascores.net
To shoot you only need 3 mags, legal 9mm or larger pistol, legal holster and concealment for your gun (shirt, vest whatever). If you are really interested check out their web site for more details.
If you can find some pay as you go range you will be paying out your ass to shoot for 1 hr.Any vote for a third party is a vote for a Democrat. You are the enemy.
