They're on the expensive side, but the P290 conceals really well and is kinda weighty. don't know if they've got all the bugs worked out yet. Should be a sick CC gun when they do.
The M1. Smackin' the bastards since 1932.

I'd prefer 9mm so I don't have to buy different ammo.
I like and have a 26. That being said, depending on your body type and what kind of comfort level you would like to enjoy whilst carrying. I would go smaller. If it MUST be 9mm, then I would probably lean towards a Kahr PM9/CM9. Had I bought the Kahr it would have negated me needing to buy the 26 AND the LCP. That being said, I like the G26 a lot. And the LCP is a gun you could carry in swimming trunks.

If you already have a full size 9mm. Why buy a mini-full size 9mm (G26) when you really want more of a pocket 9? If you already carry a full size 9mm then the G26 will probably seem tons more carryable. But being able to throw a Kahr CM9 in a pocket will probably blow your mind. However, you may get that "undergunned" feeling with the single stack Kahr coming from a full size pistol.

Lots to think about. Decide what is going to make you comfortable, and fit your specific need the best. And go handle a few of the things mentioned to see how the suggestions stack up in real life.

I had the same issue. I went with the Kel-tec P-11. Same ammo as my 228, only super-small.

If you want concealment in summer, my vote is for a single stack 9mm. I've held a few but the Taurus 709 is the only one I've shot and I was pleasantly surprised. Just based on feel, the Kimber Solo was the one that stood out to me. And if you order one now, you might have it for summer 2013.

THe Glock 26 is very nice and reliable , very accurate too with a sweet trigger, i also carry my Kahr cw9 another great smallish 9mm., very thin 0.9 inch and very light 17 ounces.

M&P Compact or SR9C. Both are great reliable guns
