Default looking for new places to hunt

Does anyone hunt Hillman state park (I think its Pa Game lands #437) in Washington Pa.

It's about 3600 acres and not too far from Greater Pitt gun club. Rts 22 and 18--Florence exit.

I'm gonna check it out on Sun.

    HoggyO,

My friend lives in Imperial so I'll pick him up and we'll check it out.

    I'll let you know.

I was driving around 232 & 245 last year and it seemed like a lot of guys were in that area the Sun before opening day.
We moved to north of Dutch Fork(can't remember what the #'s were).

I saw about the biggest buck I ever saw on private property not too far from the PGC shooting range

A friend of mine has 27 acres just off 231 pretty close to one of those gamelands.

    Thanks for the info.

    HoggyO,

The new place (Hillman State Park SGL 432) didn't pan out for me but my buddy shot a small 9 pt. I passed on a small doe with the handgun. We both got lost getting out of the woods.

Second day we went to Avella (about 20 mi west of me) and we both shot doe there.

First sat, I went to another friends farm (SG only) and shot a doe there.

My friend keeps bringing his shotgun, even though we hunt in rifle areas most of the time.

When I hunt rifle, I mostly sit (have been getting lazy with age). I set the redhawk on the ground next to me on my weak side so I don't have to try to turn completely around when deer come up on me from that angle.

Did you get a chance to get out?

    27,

I went out last Saturday to a SGl off of Top Rock Road near Nockamixon, Found 1 other hunter there, walked into the woods about 400 yards away from him and found a nice clearing with a few tress for cover, set up and stayed about 3-4 hours and didnt see a thing....Lots of shooting heard around me,hoping someone sent a deer running my way but no luck.

But hey at least it got out, that's al that matters.
