Default LTCF Processing Time in Adams County

Anyone have an idea of how long it takes for the sheriff to process an LTCF application in Adams County?

From what I have seen, all 60 days. They do call your references too.

Has anyone in Adams County approached the Sheriff or County officials about the fact that he's taking longer than allowed by law to process applications?

    Sixty days?

    (e) Issuance of license.
    (1) A license to carry a firearm shall be for the purpose of carrying a firearm concealed on or about one's person or in a vehicle and shall be issued if, after an investigation not to exceed 45 days, it appears that the applicant is an individual concerning whom no good cause exists to deny the license. A license shall not be issued to any of the following: <snip>

Somebody's sheriff is bad at the maths. 60 != 45
It has to start someplace... It has to start sometime...

They may be (illegally) using the 45 working days timeline

After 45 days I emailed Sheriff Mueller personally to ask about LTCF application, after a cordial returned email and the excuse of "switching their systems" he said he personally went through the pile and I could come in and get it. Be forewarned the lady their is not excited about having to hand out the LTCF. If you have any other questions don't be afraid to ask, I just went through all this.

Ok, my bad. Muller uses all the time allowed, more or less, so 45 days. I simply meant to say that his deputies call all references and he is not in a rush to get it done. I don't know which girl you dealt with, cause now he has two. Erica has been nothing but pleasant and helpful to me, the other one seems a bit abrasive at at times, but she's ok too. If you got the abrasive one (dark hair), I can understand, but Erica (sort of dirty blonde) has always been pleasant.

I had the dark haired one, and she was not happy when I dropped off my app., and was not happy when I picked it up. What happened was after I emailed the sheriff, and he told me to come in at my earliest convenience to pick it up (I believe it was on the 48th day because I couldn't leave work early Friday so I picked it up Monday morning), and she said she was not going through the pile and that I had to wait until she could mail them all out the next week (their must of been 1500 apps in the stack). I refused and told her about the conversation I had with the sheriff, she looked over and my app was right on top right where the sheriff said he personally put it. She then proceeded to tell me how lucky I was that he put it on top because she was not going through the stack. She was just real shitty each and everytime I had to deal with her.
