Default Shot my first 3-gun match :)

    It was a blast !
And damn was it tiring! I went with Lycanthrope and he tells me they dont normally take this long, but we no shit where there from 11AM to almost 6PM .
Apparently most 3-gun matches include some 2-gun stages , some 1-gun stages, and one or two all 3 guns in a stage. Not the madness we shot ! There where 3 stages that where all 3 guns, one single gun, and one 2 gun.
I guess its also not normall to have 8 pistol targets over 25 yards, 4 over 50 , and one at 80+. On the rifle range there was steel plates and cardboard out to 250, and plenty of it !

I had a great time and really saw some places I need to work, like accuracy with carbine on the clock
My pistol (and suprisingly to me) my shotgun was solid as fuck, with only the whole shit ton of loading shells from a pocket slowing me down, but thats not a skill issue, its just having the correct equipment for the game is all.
I was solid on rifle on small steel squares out to 100 , but the plates and poppers at 250 with the hot as fuck LW bbl, wolf ammo, and H-1, where a bit much for me and I left a couple standing. I also dropped some standing head shots at 25. Thats a shot I know I can make unmollested on the range but running against the timer does what it does.

Transitions from one gun to the next where great, real adaptability and familiarty going on there. When I picked up the carbine after shotgun it felt like a BB gun.

Now.... for some sideways video ! I didnt even take these ! I swear its my phone !

Nice shooting. You are really quick with that rifle.

    That was pretty cool.

Wonder if PAFOA can sponsor a couple of people for competition?

Can you tell us about what guns you used and how you trained?

I was using a G17 , DD carbine with H-1 , and lycan let me run his 1100 series shotgun .
Just got the tube and saddle on mine yesterday .

The AR wasn't the best tool for this game , its my training gun and meant to be light and handy and fast inside 100 , but steel plates at 250 proved difficult at nest with that set up. I'm going to repurpose my cmp A2 as a standard class irons only 3 gun rifle soon .

Trained ? Not sure how to answer that . I didn't train specifically For this event but I do attend.a metric shit ton of firearms training courses and practice regularly .

I am surprised that you, of all people, have never shot a 3-gun match before this. Good work, what did you end up placing?

Not to steal your thunder, but there are all sorts of matches like this all over the place. I'm going to one tomorrow that is just a rifle match but it requires you to carry a 45lb ruck and you are only allowed a flash hider (no compensator or brake, unless you have a suppressor over it).

First time , I've done uspsa , idpa, ect but its always been all pistol and I have shot cmp .

Scores aren't up yet , but it won't be pretty after the 250 yard plates .

Don't worry about my thunder ! I'm itching for the next match , so post them up ! There doesn't seem to be much 3 gun close , a few places do side matches though .

Now I'm jealous, I can't imagine anything that Lycan owns not having some work done to it. That just doesn't seem to be his nature.

Glad to see (sideways) that you had fun.
