Declined my CCW but allowed to purchase a Pistol..
Does this make any sense? I was declined my CCW, but a few weeks later I went to buy a pistol. They ran the check and I got told I had to wait, they were reviewing it. A few days later my gun shop called and says I was approved and I could come pickup my firearm. Now I never thought to try to appeal the decision on my CCW Application. What should I do?
Thanks!

From Section 6109 of the Uniform Firearms Act:

If the sheriff refuses to issue a license, the sheriff shall notify the applicant in writing of the refusal and the specific reasons. The notice shall be sent by certified mail to the applicant at the address set forth in the application.

Re: Declined my CCW but allowed to purchase a Pistol..
I'm going to have to go talk to them and see what they say. I've never had any serious/violent charges, because I am allowed to own my pistol. Thanks for the input guys.
Happy 4th!

(MY BOLD) Definitely do as the others said and get it in writing.
Can you think of any other possible problems why you may have been denied?
PA is "shall issue" http://www.pafoa.org/law/carrying-fi...oncealed-carryPennsylvania is a "shall-issue" state in regards to LTCF's, meaning the entity processing your application is required to approve it unless they can prove you are disqualified based on the law.

Don't mean to be rude, but you say this like you have had some other charges.....any advice recommendations, other than you need to get a denial letter, are given with incomplete information, and will probably be utterly useless because of that.....
ETA check the regs HERE if you like
