An acquaintance has graciously invited me to shoot his S&W .500 magnum, and I feel like a kid on the night before Christmas. Attending the soiree will be five watermelons, five cantaloupe, and perhaps some pineapple. I was also told something about 500gr rounds.

I'll document the fun in HD video for you hooligans. I think I'm gonna double up on ear pro too.

Watched some video of a guy shooting a snubby version thats no longer made... for your sake, I hope you get to shoot one with a longer barrel!

It's the 8.38 inch model. I don't think I'd want to shoot the 2.5 inch(?) model more than once.

Double hearing protection, for sure. I am more amazed by the percussion from the thing. And we can hold it in our hand. I love America!

I'd love to shoot one of those monsters! From what I understand, the recoil isn't all that bad due to it's weight and the compensator but yeah, I'd imagine it's real loud! Looking forward to the video! Have fun!
