how to repair drilled barrel
Pls how to repair this barrel (in attachement) so rifle will be safe to use ?
These holes probably can't be fixed, and whole barrel also can't be replaced, so is it possible to cut the barrel between the chamber and the first hole and make an extension from a semi-producted barrel ? and how ?

Re: how to repair drilled barrel
sorry for the bad news, i f this is a project that is going to be shot again you need a new barrel. your existing barrel looks like it was demiliterized to meet import regs. or something along these lines. more info on type of weapon make, model ect.

Re: how to repair drilled barrel
Why cant the barrel be replaced?
There is definitely no fixing the existing barrel. With idea of grafting in a new section after the chamber - bad idea unless you like handgrenades going off in your face.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515

Re: how to repair drilled barrel
There are gunsmiths that do barrel relining. Perhaps they could weld up the holes, bore the barrel and then reline it.

Re: how to repair drilled barrel
still say new barrel is the way to go. don,t know what gun we are talking about( no response to previous ?). even if it,s a total oddball there are plenty of barrel makers out there. and yes barrel liners are a option if you want to go to a smaller less powerful cartridge, not usually done for centerfire types( to much pressure).

A little body putty, maybe some duct tape (the handyman's secret weapon), some touch-up paint and it'll be as good as new.

Re: how to repair drilled barrel
Any barrel can be replaced. Any barrel can be remanufactured.
Of more interest is what you are working with there. Thats a really strange demill/deactivation. It begs alot of questions.

Some Kroil and a set of muffler bearings will get you there.
Or, you could always buy or make a new barrel.
Dont cheap out on your life, dude.
