Anyway, is it true that you need member sponsor to become a member at Columbia?

I have been looking into Penn Dutch, Millcreek and Mt. Joy but like the look of Columbia; based on their website anyway! I currently only shoot a Glock 23 but am working on picking up a rifle I would like to use there as well.
I would strongly advise you against joining Millcreek. If you want to know why you can PM me. There are many much better clubs in the area.

I joined Penn Dutch and Columbia Fish and Game. I went to Millcreek on one of their open Sundays and wasn't really impressed with the size, crowd and proximity of houses!

It's an interesting task filtering through all these clubs' rules. Some say you can't have more than a certain # of rounds in the mag, no "rapid fire", etc. --not compatible with my flavors of fun and defensive gun training.

I am also interested in joining Columbia Fish and Game. I have shot there with someone who is no longer a member. I really enjoyed it. Is there anyone interested in sponsoring a new member? If so PM me.

Old thread but i figured Id revive it. Im looking at joining Columbia as I live right near there. Anyone willing to sponsor me? Id be glad to meet you and get to know you ahead of time. Ive wanted to join there for awhile since its right up the road. I dont really care about the round limits. Ive shot at Fox run for archery before and love the area.

I've been a member for many years, and was just informed, that we won't be taking anymore applications. Until next year.

Yup, the membership is being held at 1,600. I understand there is a waiting list and openings will occur as folks don't pay their dues for next year.

Columbia Fish and Game has cut off memberships for the year. At the last meeting we voted in the last members of the year. You can fill out a application and it will be reviewed next year if enough members leave. The leaders set a membership limit.

Damn that filled up fast. At the meeting when they first announced the limit (couple of months ago), they estimated they would hit the limit in May.

There'll be at least one slot opening up, I'm moving to Somerset later this year so won't be renewing. It's been a good place but 160 miles is just too far to drive.
