    Default .22LR 1911's

    So I got this Sig 1911-22 and asked if it came apart like any standard 1911. The nice guy behind the counter said "yes" and I bought it. On the first breakdown I noticed that one pin has to screw out and another worked out. No biggie, but I'm not a fan of tools to take a gun apart.
    Browning has a new .22LR 1911 that looks like a winner and I do "need" a .22LR pistol. I also like the looks of the Beretta 87 (not the "Target" model).
    Any thoughts on .22 1911's and/or any other thoughts on a favorite?
    Thanks.

    Nicest one I've seen so far is the Colt. I'm going to get a .22 1911 soon and that one will be my choice.

    Buy a 1911 and add a Marvel top end. Smokes most dedicated .22 pistols for th e price.

    I use a Marvel Kit on top of a colt/novak custom frame... even works well suppressed!

    cruzans got the right idea, the colts are pretty nice granted i have,nt done a tear down on one yet. mechanicsburg ordnance has two one with a rail and one without. they feel like the originals except for weight. looks like a affordable practice gun if your into 1911 and who is'nt. gy the way cruzans your pistol is back together going to test fire this evening or tomorrow. happy shooting, red dog

    From what I've read, I'm staying away from the "Colt". If you read the description on the website it says its a replica. The only parts interchangeability with a real 1911 is the grips and sights. The GSG claims 80% parts interchangeability with a 1911 and the reviews seem to be great. I'll be getting one of these shortly. I plan on checking out the RIA XT22 when it comes out also.

    I generally get 3 recoil springs per gun, but maybe in this case I'll get 3 guns per gun. Keep the Sig 1911-22 and just collect .22's. OK, now back to work to make more money.

    Umarex "Colt" 1911/22 review;

    http://ezine.m1911.org/showthread.php?t=86

    Personaly think the Umarex "Colt" cosmetics are superb.

    Also from my own investigations - folks that have both love both. The GSG 1911 had some parts breakage issues but their CS is outstanding and they have been makeing things right, and by now they may have made the needed improvements.
