Re: NJ Non resident permit
The only way you can get a non-resident permit in NJ is if you work for an amrored car company. (If you do work for an armored car company NJ can restrict your permit to the hours you work.) Other than that you cannot get a permit in NJ.

Re: NJ Non resident permit
I don't know the process, however, after SAF finishes suing New Jersey over their requirement that an applicant must show a need for a license I will probably be applying for one as well.

Just to point to a few threads that have already covered this.
Although NJ law may say it's possible, currently you'd have a better chance at a free ride on the Space Shuttle.

Re: NJ Non resident permit
I'm a resident of the state and I have a better chance of riding the shuttle than getting a carry permit.
Some stirrings in the legislature:
http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/201..._allowing.html
http://blog.nj.com/njv_publicblog/20...ble_in_nj.html
Basically, If the applicant is:
Not a high ranking government official
Not related to a high ranking government official by blood or marriage
Not a celebrity
Not willing to give a sizable "donation" to the Democratic party
Not working with large sums of cash (i.e. Brinks armored car services)
You will be denied your right to carry a firearm.

Re: NJ Non resident permit
even dealing with large sums of money, you'll need to get shot by and thug 1st and show that there are other criminals targeting you and even with that, there's still a 95% chance you'll be denied.

Re: NJ Non resident permit
I recall hearing the process involve high-ranking politicians, knee pads and/or copious amounts of lubrication.

Re: NJ Non resident permit
the form is here:
http://www.state.nj.us/njsp/info/pdf...rms/sp-642.pdf
the governing law is NJS 2C:58-4. Go here:
http://www.state.nj.us/njsp/about/fire_ag2.html
and select Chapter 58 in right box.
As others have mentioned - its probable an exercise in futility.IANAL

Re: NJ Non resident permit
They've been using this application for over 2 years with this typo (bolded) near the top of page 1
Each person applying for a Permit to Carry and Handgun must supply a letter of need, specific in content, as to why they have a need to carry a firearm in the
State of New Jersey.
