How often should you shoot?

I am doing kind of a research paper for work in attempt to get more range time. I need help finding reputable articles/magazines or books that describe how often you should spend at the range to keep your skills from perishing?

As much as you can afford. Then find ways to cut out the other things that you don't need like cable tv, internet, cell phones and then shoot some more...

Hey thanks for the replies but your not understanding me.... your opinions are NOT what I am looking for... i am looking REPUTBLE magazines and books that state how often you should shoot to keep your skills up.

Way of the Rifle- Col. Jeff Cooper
Any of the books about tactical shooting by Gabriel Suarez
Shooting to Live- William Fairbain
Tactical Pistol Shooting- Erik Lawrence
Percision Shooting; Trap Shooters Bible- James Russel

Try those books.
I am particularly fond of the Jeff Cooper book.
So much so that I think the study of the book should be included in elementery schoole curriculum.

we need official documents and/or studies. we are trying to get our work to help us pay for ammo or range fee, since we have to keep a qual for shooting our weapons.

I think you'd be better off asking this question to the NTOA, at IALEFI, or even on 10-8forums.

What leads you to believe, are thoughts are influenced by anything less than reputable people like Col. Jeff Cooper? I think you'll find that 'mall ninjas' regard marksmanship as 'over-rated' - for the rest of us, the reality is, PERFECT practice makes perfect.
