    Default Sig box label question

I have seen a 226 box label 226-9-B and 226-9-B XPBM. I know what the first part is, but does anyone know what the "XPBM" stands for?

    Thanks in advance!

I believe XPBM is the code for a gun of the month.

Given that 1blindef has probably forgotten more about Sigs than most of us will ever know, I'd have to side with him. The OP's explanation makes no sense. The only guns that came with three mags were marked with a "G" at the end of the model code, unless it was a special model like the Blackwater.

It's the label on the box, it could stand for anything.

Have you ever bought/owned a Sig before? Particularly a recent-production Sig, where sometimes the only thing separating one model from another is maybe a rail, or perhaps a beaver tail or night sights, or even the sixth color in the combination of the rainbow anodizing?

The label on the box is kinda... Well see it... Umm... Well see, it indicates the specific model firearm inside.

So, no - It doesn't just stand for anything. It stands for what Ref suggested - One of the one-off special run Gun-Of-The-Month pistols....

    Regards,

    Bones

They are just model option designators. Putting them in google can tell you some stuff, when I did yours it described it in the first post.....
    226-9-B-XPBM
    Sig 226, 9mm, stainless slide, non-rail frame, DA/SA. I'm told this was a GOTM from April,2003.

When I put in mine I get ---e29-40-sss-rtser---
The factory code describes it as a P229, .40 S&W, All Stainless, Reverse Two Tone, with Siglight Night Sights and Forward Serrations.
This is an E29-40-SSS-RTSER. It was one of the last stainless steel frame P229 imported and a total of 400 were produced according to my records. I do not believe it was a gun of the month model. A very nice version of a really good pistol
