My Kahr CW9 Break-In Saga: Part 2 - The End!
My Kahr CW9 Break-In Saga: Part 2 - The End!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwyDc9SKoZE
Bottom line:
Positive- No more problems with trigger reset.
Negative- Constant magazine insertion slide drop malfunctions.
Final result: Only 30 more rounds fired. Under feed ramp nosedive jam
puts gun out of action, Vise and tools required to clear.
Final verdict: Loss of confidence in gun. Gun will be sold.

That blows. Kahrs seem to be like Kimbers. You either get a good one and love it, or a bad one and hate them forever. I love mine. Accurate, reliable, great trigger.
Just get a Glock and be done. You can never have enough horsepower or ammunition.

That sucks - Kahr's are definitly one of those love em or hate em guns! I have one, a K9 that I bought as an ex NY Detective backup gun and have had no issues at all. I hear a lot about Kahr's "break in period" - very long - something you don't see in other manufacturers. Good luck in your next selection!

In the past, I have owned 3 different Kahr P9s, my wife has owned a P9, K9 and T9.
What I can say about them: Kahr's are most definitely finicky.
Good luck with your search for your next gun.Tomorrow's battle is won during today's practice.

Re: My Kahr CW9 Break-In Saga: Part 2 - The End!
I have a Gen 2 G19 I bought 16 years ago. 100% reliable out of the box. No "break-in" needed. It's never malfunctioned even once in those 16 years.
Unfortunately, the older I get the smaller and lighter my carry guns get. The G19 is compact but with that hunk of steel slide and 16 rounds it's getting a bit heavy on my hip. I'm seriously looking at the Beretta Nano now.

The Kahr economy series seem to be very hit or miss. You either get a jewell or a turd. I got a turd. Story of my life.

My apologies as I haven't watched the video. But did Kahr offer to do anything about it?

Re: My Kahr CW9 Break-In Saga: Part 2 - The End!
Have you tried a K9? Yes it is 50% heavier than a CW but it is the same size. The problem with going light and small is they are harder to handle well as they want to move around more with little to hold on to. The extra weight of the K9 tames it a little better but allows the same small package. They do carry very nice in a Supertuck type holster and best of all they have nice smooth triggers. It my be just me but pistols under 20 oz. are just too small .

Re: My Kahr CW9 Break-In Saga: Part 2 - The End!
I sent it to Kahr after my first break-in attempt failed due to trigger reset problems. I got it back 3 weeks later. They adjusted the trigger bar and no more trigger reset problems. Trigger works fine now. The jam problem seems to be the result of badly designed magazines. About the only thing Kahr could do would be to replace the mags and polish the feed ramp. That would not cure the design flaws in the mags. The Kahrtalk forum has many, many posts discussing these mag flaws and how to modify them to work reliably. Why should we have to do the manufacturer's job for them?
