Here is the link for schools and the other info that you will need.
    1) you got the application
    2) you need a physical exam
    3) you need a psychological test
    4) after you pass both of these and the results are sent to PA State Police, they will send you a letter letting you enroll in an Act 235 class.

Everything you need to know is on the PA State Police web site.

    Good Luck

Not to steal this thread but I've been thinking about getting this certification, I'm close to graduating PSU and want to fill up my resume a little more, but I'm not sure what the opportunities are with ACT 235 . . ? Is there many private sector jobs that require this? Would it look good to have when applying for state jobs? Thanks for the help

With the ACT 235 certification, you can do armed security type jobs. There is work out there for armed guards, whether its doing the armored truck gig, or working at a security company who employs armed guards, there are pharmaceutical(SP?) companies who hire armed security officers as well.

There is work out there for the armed professional, just have to look.

Yes, anyone can apply. After going through the appliction process and once you receive the acceptance letter, then you can take the class.

There are no special requirements to take this certification.
