I have always written off these overpriced auctions as some sort of money laundering scheme. I used to see them all the time on ebay where people would list very inexpensive items like shoes for thousands of dollars. Maybe thats whats going on. I know nothing about money laundering but it definitely looks like something is up.

As a consumer, I would be more likely to buy from a company if their retail and e-commerce (admittedly) jived ... but thats just me.
