Default NHRPC MOGADISHU MILE CARBINE MATCH

    Full information is here:

    http://nhrpc.org/index.php/groups/42-practical-a-precision-rifle/108-nhrpc-mogadishu-mile-carbine-match

Come on out for a great day of camaraderie and help the club raise some money for range improvements.

Please note that you must have shot with us in a prior match to be eligible for the mile. If you are a first time shooter or are brand new to competition shooting, this isn't a good one to start with. There have been well over 20 matches so far you could have gotten your feet wet with, so we will see you next year.

The Mogadishu Mile involves approximately 400 yards of movement and up to ten different firing points with defined targets for each location. The course of fire is based loosely on the Battle of Mogadishu in 1993 and fictional occurrences portrayed in the movie. There will be a full size representation of a UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopter on the range that you will have to work your way toward, and secure. Radio communication will be required. There will also be a technical (a simulated pickup with a mounted gun) that will have to be engaged.

There is no pistol required. Only range staff and the shooter firing are authorized to be hot. Secure them in vehicle please. Please note the cancellation policy. If you register and withdraw within 5 days of the match or do not show, you owe the match fee the next time you shoot with us.

Recommended round count is 120 rounds minimum stacked in magazines.

This match is a lot of fun. Some say the best ever. You are guaranteed to have a great time.

Question Re: NHRPC MOGADISHU MILE CARBINE MATCH

This sounds like a FUN event. Any chance of some first-person helmet cam video being posted after that weekend - for the rest of us to enjoy?

If someone is running with such a rig, sure - I have no problem with that.

I guess if you'd shot at Langehorne that doesn't count? I've been out of the country for quiet some time and would like to shoot this, but if not, hopefully next time.

PM me your name. If you were there when I ran matches there and I remember that your handling skills are up to it, I will let you in if you shake hands on coming shoot with us at least a couple times before the end of the year.

I had some additional questions come in:

1 - You do not need to be MIL/LE to shoot in the enlisted class. Only need the ruck and 45lbs in it. It's a "how," not a "who."

2 - Muzzle brakes - Not permitted in the enlisted class. Enlisted must have a F/H or suppressor. Or a brake with a suppressor over top of it. Brake automatically puts you in Civ. The standard slant brake and ak74 brakes that come on Kalashnikovs are permitted on those guns. Without a doubt they are "working" guns and are issued that way by the ja-zillions.

Civilian class - anything goes on the gun.

If you have some other competitive match experience in a discipline close to this (e.g. LRGC Matches, USPSA) that will be considered. This isn't a match for greenhorns. Check in on this if there are any questions.

    Radio communication will be required.
    As in two-way radio? PRC-148 MBITR? FBCB2?
