M&P9 Purchase
Been Lurking around Atlantic Tactical in NewCumberland, Pa., checking to
see if any M&P9's have showed up. They had compacts, but I prefer the
Full Size model. It must have been my "lucky day". They had one and the
price was right. $455 plus tax. The M&P 9 was a LEO Demo, that one of their
sales rep's returned. I Field Stripped the piece and smiled, If this pistol had
100 rounds through it, I was one lucky fella. A little dirty but nothing that
a little cleaning and lube would not cure.
Went to the West Shore Sportsman yesterday, along with a value pack of
250 rounds of UMC 9mm.
Shot steel at 7, 15, 25, and 50 yds on Range 1. Needless to say the
pistol had performed as advertised. No failures, all three magazines performed
excellently. It also had the two additional grip inserts. I used the Medium
insert.
Went to paper to check groups. The results were also excellent at "Slow
Fire" at 15 and 25 yds. Groups were less than two inches at 15 yds. and
3 inches, at 25 yds. . Point of Aim equalled Point of Impact.(6 o'clock hold,
center of mass B-27 ) Overall impression, I have a Winner. It was right there
for accuracy with others in the 9mm full size family.(Sig & Glock)

Re: M&P9 Purchase
I'm a big fan of the M&P9. I've shot the crap out of mine. I stopped counting at 2,000 rounds. Still no failures. If you want to love your M&P even more, consider installing the APEX DCAEK. I can't speak for the APEX forward set sear and trigger (yet) because I'm waiting on mine in the mail.

Check out the Apex RAM (Reset Assist Mechanism), too. I just put them in both my 40C and my 9 Pro. I haven't had a chance to shoot with them in yet, but wow, what a difference during dry firing. I figure that I'll test these out, then look to installing a DCAEK in the 40C.

Wish I'd posted my classified a week earlier, lol. I'm selling a brand new m&p9 for $400 with 250 rounds of cheap ammo.

Re: M&P9 Purchase
congrats on your new shooter. m&p's are nice choice, i'm personally a glock fan but they don't fit everybody. the m&p's seem to have a thinner grip and a different grip angle that fits better in some peoples hands. my theory is if it does'nt fit well it won't shoot well. just playing devils advocate here but why wait for one? mechanicsburg ordnance usually has a full selection of these in inventory or at the least he could of picked one up for you in a couple of days. prices are usually good as well, we sold the hell out of them in philly last week. you local guys don't forget this shop it may be small but overhead is low and pricing and service reflect this. be safe and shoot staight, red dog
