Hunters Lodge Rossi .38
The last couple issues of Shotgun News have an ad for Hunters Lodge that features Rossi model 68 revolvers for the attractive price of $149.
This is basically a Rossi knock off of the S&W model 36, but with a 3" barrel, and adjustable rear sight. I'm very aware that the Rossi is no S&W,. But, it is appealing as an inexpensive knock about gun, and I like the 3" barrel.
What I am unsure of, is making any purchase from Hunters Lodge. Many times over I've heard of their reputation for selling badly abused scrap metal, as well as how combative their customer service is.
Has anyone actually ordered one of these, with agreeable results?

I have one, an older one imported by Interarms. It shoots just as well as any S&W I've fired. Double action is a little stiffer than a S&W, but the single action break point is the same. Lockup is tight.

Oh I don't doubt the Rossi revolver itself. I've just heard endless horror stories about purchasing used/surplus guns from Hunters Lodge. Thanks for the input.

if you have the money, and nothing else that it could be spent on. sure why not? at this point you clearly already own one of everything else on the planet.
i don't smoke, but would still burn a c note to light a ***, before buying a rossi.it's only metal, we can out think it....

Having heared nothing but negatives about Hunter's Lodge, and having seen my share of beat up old Rossi revolvers that were out of timing... I'd pass, but then again, it's your dime.

Re: Hunters Lodge Rossi .38
Actually, one of the Armscor .38 revolvers is looking more attractive. Unless of course, I can find an actual Colt Police .38 for sale. Has anyone seen either for sale in the Pittsburgh Metro area?
