Default Allegheny County Now $20 for LTCF.

    Amazing! Government actually reduces costs.

    On the Sheriff's website.

    NOTICE: FIREARMS FEE CHANGE

Due to the completion of the firearms modernization process, firearms permits fees will drop to $20.00. Fee changes will begin on 05/09/11.

Wonder if, as on their website (toward bottom), this is still true?

RETIRED LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS PERMITS - $6.00

It still says $25 (toward bottom of page also) for "ordinary folks" in Allegheny, so maybe they removed the discount for retired cops

    I want my $5 back.

    Kidding

Nice to see that streamlining the process they pass the savings onto the citizens rather than just spend it needlessly elsewhere.

Wow! You don't see that every day. Good to know, but I'm not up for renewal until next year too. Thanks for the update!

This was required by statute due to a temporary fee that has now reached it's sunset. ALL counties should be charging $20, and this is not a brilliant PR move or some show of support for our rights.

Exactly, allegheny county was for some time not even charging the mandated state fees for ex-leo applicants, thereby not providing the full funds to the modernization process that they should have been.

Allegheny county still improperly requested, and even worse was approved, to issue a license with incorrect legal informationm on the back; and the push to get each county to $20 also only happened because of negative press throughout parts of the state about excess fees.

This entire thing is a disgusting mess and is in no way an example of government working as it should be.

To whom did they make this request? PSP? Sheriff's Association?
