Re: winner!!!! now what
I don't have any experience with it but based on the reading it sounds like a good capable 1911 if you have the right expectations. Its not a custom shop gun, nor is it a nighthawk, ed brown, les baer, wilson combat etc... But I doubt you will be disappointed. It sounds like a decent pistol for the price. And hell who doesn't love a 1911???

Re: winner!!!! now what
I've heard nothing but glowing reviews of the gun from their owners. It seems to be a great $700 to $900 gun.
CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is a 1911, and it's even better when your familiar with the platform. Let us know how it shoots when you get it.George,
So many guns, so little money.

Congrats, I was wondering if you were a member here when I saw you were from PA. I was also extremely jealous because I must have voted 500 times and didn't win a damn thing.
The one downside I heard is that the rear sight gets snagged on clothing if you CC, but with a gun that pretty I would OC all day.

Re: winner!!!! now what
CONGRATULATIONS! You're gonna' love that gun.
I bought a RO a couple months ago & after a few range sessions, it quickly became my favorite carry piece. It's a good shooter & I haven't had any problems except for a defective mag, which SA replaced without question. They didn't even want the old mag back, so it's been marked for range use only. I have close to 1000 rounds thru it & it's eaten all my reloads,(230gr RN & 230gr SD loads), without a hiccup.
I immediately put a set of VZ Alien grips on it. The only other thing I may change is the front sight. It's a little hard to see in low light conditions. As for now, I've put acrylic paint on the rear of the front sight blade & it works pretty well.
My recommendations: Get some Wilson 47D mags & a set of aggressive VZ grips of your choice, right off the bat.
Enjoy!"It's hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong."
