SA TRP @ $1300.00 or so. You won't be disappointed.
Wilson Combat CQB Elite @ $3000.00 or so. You'll be smiling through Eternity.George,
So many guns, so little money.

How about the original? Go with a Colt, I love mine .

Re: A good 1911
LOL. You want suggestions for a 1911? Do you have a week?
I have a Springfield M1911A1, in stainless steel, and a MetroArms American Classic. Both are great, and were cheap. My boyfriend had a Taurus, and he loved it. My brother has Colts, Kimbers, Springfields, and a couple of others I don't know the names of. He carries our dad's Colt, and his Kimber Ultra Carry.
I guess any of these would be a good choice.

That's like asking which car you should buy. Gonna have to provide more info on budget and intended use at a minimum.

Re: A good 1911
How about this for a spin. 1911 is a great platform, and there are many great offerings available from many great gun makers. 1911 is also about the number of different opinions you're going to hear, and each one of them will have at least one person tell you that opinion is BS. I recommend this... set your price range before you start looking. Be flexible by $100 or so. Then go to a big store with a wide variety of 1911s and handle them all. Why? Because you already know what the gun is going to be, and how it's going to work. Not much in the way of surprises. What is left is fit, feel, and looks. How does the action work? How does the gun fit and feel in your hands? Do you like the grips? The safeties? The trigger? The finish? Do you like the feel of the cuts on the slide? The checkering or lack thereof? How about the sights?
Chances are very good you'll find one that "just feels right." And it won't be the one I liked, or they liked, or some other guy said you'd like. Now you know which one you should buy.

Any Springer loaded model. In the remote case you need customer service it is personal and by far the best.
Loaded models get you a loaded coupon too.

^This.
I'm happy with my SA. Good gun for the money IMO. If you want something "better" than a Loaded, you'll have a pretty big price jump to get a Wilson, Baer, etc.
Customer Service is good, too. When I had a problem with one of the mags that came with it, they had a new mag in my mailbox in a couple days. Didn't even want the defective one back."It's hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong."
