    Default 2A Enfield

    My 1st C&R
    .308 (NATO) 2a Ishapore Enfield

    1964, India

    Bore: Fine

Finish: Casey Tru Oil Gun Stock

Modifications: Duck cover trail style dry run due to excessive head space with helpful advice from PARifleman, thinking about a scope.

Performance: N/A - Shoots Fine, Actions Great, No Range Reports

    Original Condition

    Just something to barf at.

Me, being a nub went overboard on the refurbishment of this rifle:
I stripped all the original paint away until the original shiny metal was left, and then I degreased all the steel with a degreaser before painting it. After that I used a special spray paint from brownells to paint all the outside parts. In the end I wish that I had just cleaned the wood, the action, and the barrel, but on the second thought this was a pretty good first project and feet wetter.

    I got my Ishapore 2A Enfield 7.62 X 51 from Aim. It was $169 plus I paid $10 for a handpick of 5 units.

I had to have my FFL order mine as I haven't got my C&R yet.

I ordered an additional 12 rd mag (they were unavailable so I got what looks like a new 10 rnd mag.

It was pretty clean of Cosmo. I further cleaned it ,cleaned off some of the black paint to see the markings and noticed the rear ramp sight (0-800 mtrs) was bent considerably to one side.

It shot about 3 1/2 to 4 inches left at 25 yds. I called Aim and they told me to send the rear sight back and they would replace it. It is on its way.

The rifle was easy to shoot, the bolt was smooth and although the extracyor didn't fling the spent casings far, they did clear the rifle pretty well.

I'll have to install the new rear sight and shoot it again to determine how accurate it might be

I'll update when i get the sight back.

I got mine from AIM to, and I used the same link 27 showed. I got a nice little cheap computer in my basement.

Little something that's really bothering me. My 2A is stamped 1964, and the sight goes upto 200. Something sound wrong?

In terms of progress I have put a finish of the main steel piece, just letting it settle on. Seems to dry completely not until after a few days.

Once it's done I better have a gunsmith expect it.

    Willtallica,

The only 2 sights that I know of for this firearm are 2000 mtrs and 800 mtrs.

Mine came with a 800. The graduations don't quite go halfway up the ramp.

Do your sight graduations go completely up the rear sight ramp? If so, its a 2000 mtr sight.

    LOL

No way, I had to. Spray nozzles clogged up, so I have to wait for my new ones to get here before I can finish it up.

Starting to come around the corner with my 2A Enfield. After I got the bolt together, and installed I tested the action and it was great. Nice and smooth and fast.

The wood is next, took me all day to get the stupid cosmo, and finish off of it. I really hope to show it off by christmas.
