    Default 1911 Trigger Job

Is there anyone in the Delaware valley, or surrounding regions who can do a competent trigger job on a 1911? I have a Sistema that's a very decent pistol, but it has a creepy 8 1/2 lb trigger. Ideally I'd like about a 4lb roll trigger.

The reason that I'm posting this inquiry here rather than under 'Gunsmiths' is that I'm wondering if there's anyone locally who does trigger work but isn't a gunsmith otherwise. If I need to go to a full service gunsmith, I can take it up to EGW - they have another of my 1911s for similar work, but their turn-around is longer than I'd like.

    thanks

You can buy sub 4lb drop in triggers.

    Thanks for the tips.

So are these kits truly drop-in? The reason that I ask is that in my experience drop-in parts either need fitting, or they're drop-in-able because they're scaled a little smaller - i.e. they're loose.

+ thanks for the advice via PM

In my limited experience drop-in parts are a compromise because of loose tolerances.

IMHO a really great trigger job requires custom fitting of each and every component to eliminate these tolerances.

    Casimer,
I can second Conrad's recommendation for Ready Aim Fire in Bristol. I have "seen" some of their work. If you make the trip down, you will be happy.

I just gave a pistol to abington gun sports, I will get it back later this week, I sent it in because i could push the trigger off cocked position. I have heard that the Smith at Quinbys near you is good, But it is something like 3-6 months last time I asked,
I will let you know how it goes at abington..
