Mt Lebanon Dormont Sportsman's club
Hello guys,
I live in the south hills and was interested in joining MLDSC. Does anyone belong to the club? How do you like it? It also says on the website that I need 2 members in good standing with the club to get accepted. Unfortunately, I don't know anybody that goes there so what would be the best approach to join?
Thanks,
Steve

Re: Mt Lebanon Dormont Sportsman's club
I'm a member there. It's a decent enough club. There are enough ranges that you can usually have a line all to your self. The people are really friendly there as well. My only complaint is that you can't shoot indoors unless it's for an event.
No need to worry about the two member requirement. If you go to the monthly meeting early and chat up some folks, you'll get your endorsements without any trouble.
They usually list the monthly membership meetings on the website, but I believe they are something like the third Tuesday of each month.ArmsList.com - Craigslist for guns

I actually attended one of the membership meetings recently and joined the club. I was surprised that you didn't need the two endorsements that day. Seems like a nice club and maybe I will see you around there.

I just retired and moved back to Pittsburgh (Green Tree) after 40 years in Maryland. The Mt. Lebanon Dormont Sportsman's Club sounds interesting.
Where and when do they meet?

Although the club is called Dormont/Mt. Lebanon, it's neither in Dormont nor Mt. Lebanon. It's actually close to canonsburg.

if you want to train in practical pistol technique it's a no go there. "no holster play" this is the main reason i didn't join this one!

Re: Mt Lebanon Dormont Sportsman's club
Yeah, that's one of the two rules that I don't like. The other is no shooting on the move.
Other than that, it's a great range. That's why I have a membership to another club.
They have two rifle ranges. There regular one (no benches) and a small benchrest range. Both go out to 200 yrds.
