Training tools
Okay, so I've found a great tool that I just tried out and I am buying one on Monday. Its a Real Action Marker RAM X50, a Sig Sauer P226 replica paintball pistol.
based on my brief experience shooting one, I think its going to not only be a great training tool, but I think its going to be more fun than any 'add cliche here'.
So what do you guys use as training tools? Lets see if we can get a thread with pictures of everything from paintball markers, to... what ever you train with. Let see em'. Lets hear about them too.The M1. Smackin' the bastards since 1932.

Re: Training tools
Nice concept and if it works all well and good. Me, I don't have any training tools except the guns that I shoot for informal target practice and social work aka self defense.
If your paint ball gun is the same weight as the firearm Sig that you use, I imagine the device is a good idea.
Years ago, when the revolvers were standard issue for police, Colt and Smith made 22 cal. versions of the very 38 cal. issue guns. These 22s were a great traning tool for new recruits that were unfamiliar with the shooting basics.

Re: Training tools
damn bills ! gettin in the way !
those do look like a reasonable alternative to sim's..... of course thats how they are marketing them.
the important points IMO will be :
similarity of controls, trigger pull, holster fit to simulated gun
Accuracy (not shooting for groups at 25 yards or anything, but if the equipment wont let you make a partially covered hostage type head shot inside 7 yards then you cant simulate those sorts of shots as an example)
will it run reliably through a training session
Can you put factory sights on it (think night sights and low light / no light scenerio training)

Re: Training tools
I'm pretty sure that you can put nightsights on it and I know it fits P226 holsters. For the rest I have yet to find out. Soon now.
