Which Finish for 1911?
Title says it all.
Which finish do you prefer to see on a 1911 for looks, maintenance, and practicality?
Discuss your decision please.
I only have experience with a parked 1911, and it works, but not all that aesthetically pleasing.
Hard chrome just looks bad ass, whether it be brushed/polished/etc. I haven't read many negative reviews for HC. Some complain a bright gun is a tactical disadvantage... pshhh... that may hold true for SWAT/military, but if you or I are drawing, we aren't worried about it being seen. If I were going to go all black, the Hard Hat treatment offered by Severns Custom looks great and seems to hold up well being the metal is treated and not a finish that is applied and could chip.Last edited by clarion44; May 19th, 2011 at 01:39 AM.

Re: Which Finish for 1911?
i'm a older guy and though some of the new finishes are nice a good old fashion blue job works for me. i have to admitt some of the bitone kimbers are pretty hot looking, can see owning one some day.

I like any 1911 in any finish, but being old school, I like blue. I like chrome and SS. But there is something about the blue that I like better.

Re: Which Finish for 1911?
I just ordered a parkerized 1911. My next one will probably be bitone as they look awesome. I agree with others, any look good.

Everyone needs a "pimp" or BBQ gun. So, my pick is hard chrome with pearl grips
