Default Went Just For Ammo, Left w/a Ruger MKIII

It's bad. Even my (seriously) well intentioned visits to Tanner's for ammo, turn into a gun buy. I never expected to see this there though, and I jumped on it:

A Ruger MKIII .22/45 Target. Test fired in January 2011, and clean as a whistle. At $169, I couldn't resist, as I've been considering a MKIII for awhile now.

I suppose I'll have to start ordering ammo online to "stay safe".

Tanners is dangerous and their prices can not be touched. It makes our classified section on the forum look like a bunch of rip off artists compared to the prices that they sell guns at. Looks like a fantastic pick up.

Thanks. I'm going to attempt the field strip now, based on this video, which makes it appear much easier than I've been told (per Ruger's FAQ, the MKIII can be dry-fired):

After that, it might see the range tonight or tomorrow night.

Either way that's a good price. If new, that's an amazing price. When I bought mine last summer, I was happy to get it for $249, at Belding & Mull in Phillipsburg. Everyone else was around $275-300.

I agree, and I don't care if it's new or used. I just figure if it's new then they have more of them!
