Oh, and Franklin County has some very good sources of "scrapple" as well! :-)

I LOVE scrapple! I have a friend who lives in Bloomsburg and she has a friend who makes it. Can't eat it too often but now and then it's yummy!
We will be leaving for Chambersburg Monday morning, June 27th probably getting there around noon.

Being introduced to scrapple is one of my fondest memories of having lived in Chambersburg in the late 60s! :-)

We will be in Chambersburg on Monday, June 27th around noon and staying until Tues Afternoon. Anyone have ideas on must see things and ways to get good info about the area? I will contact a couple of real estate places to see what they have to say but talking to the local folks is best I think. Thank you, Jim.

Thumbs up Re: Wondering about Chambersburg and area.

Gettysburg's only a quick trip over the ridge! Besides, the GOOD side (Confederate) is closest to Chambersburg!

Thanks, WW I know we'll be close to Gettysburg. I should have been clearer, sorry. I was wondering if there's anything to see within Chambersburg it's self. Thanks again.

You might want to check out the Heritage Center, located at the local Chamber of Commerce. It's on the SE corner of the square (center of town).

Yes. "The square" is at the intersection of Main St. (which is also Route 11) and Lincoln Way (which is also Route 30). There is a fountain there, with a statue of a Union soldier looking south.

President James Buchanan's house is somewhere near there!
