sks issue
I picked up another Norinco sks its the model with the chicom red stock (plastic) and the safty is very hard to move and the trigger will not reset itself to the fire position. When you pull it it fired a round or dry fires and the trigger stays back anyone have a clue on the issue or possible causes.
Secondly any info on why some Norinco had plastic red stocks and some have wood? It has all acc. and bayonet.Last edited by chrmm22sr; May 9th, 2011 at 09:41 PM. Reason: sks

Re: sks issue
Rare is relative. I have seen the fiberglass stock's going for $40-$50 on GB. The gun's, with fiberglass stock's, were supposedly exported to Vietnam in response to the wooden stock's rotting in the jungle climate. I have had a couple of them and the last one I sold for $400

sks
You might look at the "jungle-red" stock as a gimmick on a gun that doesn't need gimmicks. All NORICO pcs are simply knock-offs of the original, from the Soviet Union. You indeed may have a "rare jungle gun" but the odds are not in your favor. Get a real exploded view of a real Soviet Union SKS, and try nibbling on the sticky places on yours until things fit all together. Take your bolt mechanism all the way apart (check out the serial numbers inside there) and see where something may be making it hang up. If you ned additional locations for serial numbers, PM me. TOTALLY matching serials may add $40~50 to your gun if it is otherwise all good material. Good luck. L1S1

Re: sks issue
a friend suggested its the sear that is busted or the hook catching. He also suggested it may not be this rifles original trigger group?
Any insight?Last edited by chrmm22sr; May 9th, 2011 at 11:11 PM.

Re: sks issue
OP, if you post the first 2 digits of the serial number ( that is the 2 numbers preceding the the group of 4 or 5 numbers) i can tell you when your gun were made and wether or not it might be a true Jungle carbine and what type of trigger group should be in there.
