    Default saw a ruger 1911

i'm not in the market for another 1911 but if i was i think the new ruger 1911 would be a good choice. i checked one out saturday at surplus city and i have to admit it really looks and feels like a well built gun with a pretty good trigger. price was 650 which was cheaper than every other 1911 surplus city had in stock except for the ATI guns. if the gun proves to be reliable as well as accurate and ruger can keep the price down i think ruger will make a lot of money off this gun.

Agreed. I'm doomed. It's just a matter of time.

You're not going to let something trivial like already owning a fine working 1911 get in the way of buying another are you?

I've currently got a RIA and a Metro Arms American Classic II, both of which run great too, but at a price rumored to be $629.99 (at a Bucks county shop I frequent often), I don't know if I'll be able to resist picking up a third (and seemingly very nice) 1911.

Considering a SIG target 1911, and a SA loaded are both going for 803$ at the lgs Id have a hard time spending 650 on a Ruger product.

I wouldn't mind having a Stainless steel 1911 for $799+, I might buy another one just because its SS and reasonably priced I just hope that the parts are inter changeable like a 1911 should be.

Yesterday (5-08-11) met a friend. He just got a Ruger 1911. It came with rosewood grips, not the black rubber ones like the magazine pictures. All of us there got to shoot it some. Not bad. Used a number of types of ammo. No jams. The only bug everyone had is that the zipper case that it came with is made in China. Not a bad 1911 for around 700 or so.........

But at least the entire Gun is made in America, which is more than can be said for a lot of pistols
