bore sighter
anyone in philly have one? i have a new .223 and i just picked up a scope that needs bore sighting before i take it to the range. im in fishtown. i dont expect i would consume much of your time with this and i would offer a six pack to boot.
thanks in advance and on top of the above i would most certainly be happy to meet another enthusiast in philly.
thanks again, R.To err is human, to be prepared divine

Sure, I have one of the laser style that you plug in the muzzle.
Have you bore sighted by removing the bolt and peering through?

Re: bore sighter
yeah like this guy says. you dont need a boresighter. Just mount your gun like you would for boresighting and remove your bolt and look down the bore at your target. Adjust your scope to where the crosshairs are looking at the same thing. I have even used this method on my ar-15. If thats what you have, just remove the upper and the bolt as well and do the same thing. After your done, reassemble. you will be almost dead on

If you're going to the OC rally next weekend, you could borrow mine.

Re: bore sighter
The removing the bolt method will get you on paper, then you can fine tune from there. What type of rifle did you get? I will be getting a Savage 11 in .223. What type scope are you using? I am still trying to decide on a scope. I am leaning towards the Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x40. What range do you shoot at? What distance? By the way the PMC .223 ammo is about .30/round. Check online.
