LTCF fee in Berks County dropping
Effective Wednesday May 11, 2011 the fee for a license to carry firearms will be reduced to $20. The modernization fee expires on that date. There was a house bill in the works to keep the fee at $25 but we got word from State Rep Day that it is not going to proceed.

WOW. That's cool. We wondered if this would happen. Hopefully all other sheriffs, and PPD, will understand that they MUST drop the fee to 20 bucks

That can't be true, nothing goes down in price.

Re: LTCF fee in Berks County dropping
How many counties will actually do this? I'm guessing not many...

Sheriff Weaknecht in Berks is a very pro 2nd amendment man- he is worthy of your support in the next election- and no, I am not associated with him or his campaign in any way. His record speaks for itself.

Re: LTCF fee in Berks County dropping
OP, thank you for posting this.
I will be making an update about what happened with this bill and some issues coming shortly after the rally next week, just so everyone knows.
There are good reasons not to be so pessimistic this time. Close to 100% of all Sheriffs are now in compliance with the $25 rate, and will be soon with the $20 rate. It's an insane improvement from a year ago when we had more than 1/3rd charging too much.Last edited by IronSight; May 8th, 2011 at 12:13 AM.
