Yes its being held over again.

What we really need is for people to call and email state reps today, expressing disappointment that SB 273 is not being brought up for a vote

    Stay vigilant

Tuesday Oct 16th is the probably last real chance for passage this session

If you don't like the locals violating preemption laws with firearms, speak up now!

Make phone calls on Oct 16 and send email.... now!

    Update 11:40am Oct 16, 2012

SB 273 is marked for voting today on the calender, but ....SB 273 is NOT marked by either caucus agreeing on whether its actually going to be really vote on today.

So keep those phone calls going into house leadership from both Parties.

This is one of those day wish we could have the A-Team deployed with boots on the ground in HBG to be in the Reps Offices pushing this

    Update Oct 16, 2012
It with great sadness and much disappointment that this is the post that concludes the 2011-2012 legislative session effort with preemption.

Our last shot was preemption just got the official notice today of Oct 16, 2012........ it’s Game over for US.

Read the Oct 16th message from the PSA chairman, Harry Schneider

Pennsylvania SB 273 is dead for this session. Time has expired and it cannot be resurrected this session.

This legislation would have provided much needed penalties for municipalities that violate gun laws and ignore Pennsylvania Supreme Court decisions to the detriment of law abiding gun owners.

Be sure to let your state representatives know that you are very disappointed that Democrat and Republican Leadership did not move this legislation in the 2011-12 session.

Let them know that you hope that they will do something about the leadership problem in the next session so that this and other important pro-freedom legislation will advance.

    Harry Schneider, PSA Chairman

    Rights, not privileges

"No State shall convert a liberty into a privilege, license it, and charge a fee therefor." --Murdock v. Pennsylvania, 319 US 105, US Supreme Court, [1943].

The U.S. Supreme Court broadly and unequivocally held that requiring licensing or registration of any constitutional right is itself unconstitutional. --Follett vs. Town of McCormick, S.C., 321 U.S. 573 [1944]

"The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned. [*287] Because the ownership of firearms is constitutionally protected, its regulation is a matter of statewide concern. The constitution does not provide that the right to bear arms shall not be questioned in any part of the commonwealth except Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, where it may be abridged at will, but that it shall not be questioned in any part of the commonwealth."
    SUPREME COURT OF PENNSYLVANIA, 545 Pa. 279; 681 A.2d 152; 1996 Pa. LEXIS 1447, May 1, 1996, ARGUED July 18, 1996, DECIDED
I wish to thank PAFOA moderators & members and firearm Activist along everyone else that wrote, called and emailed the Reps, made FTF time with Reps, especially all of those that traveled to HBG to attend one of our legislative lobbying events, that sends a powerful message when gun owners show up in HBG Reps offices wanting to speak with them.

A variety of groups gathered against this proposed preemption legislation effort. Along with the rest of the pro gun agenda we had for the 2011-2012 session and we let them push us to the rear of the bus by not enough us taking the time to be involved in the political process.

Election day is Nov 6th 2012 how many of your gun owning friends and family bother to go vote?

Maybe this is why much pro gun legislation doesn’t move for recorded votes and less gets signed into law,is who hold elected office after its our turn to vote

Nov 6th 2012 elections - FOAC Pro Gun voter guide – Time for a choice - GO VOTE!!!!!!
    http://forum.pafoa.org/pennsylvania-...e-go-vote.html

Other than HB 40 (so called castle doctrine) now know as Act 10 of 2011 (which was self defense not really a firearm bill with several technical changes in UFA). Other bills with holding the bad guys accountable for their actions and a few sportsmen bills we pretty much got Zip from the rest of the 2011-2012 session with the Republican party firmly in control of both houses, and with a Republican governor that can claim none of the pro guin bills made it to my desk.

So who was to blame, the Squishy RINO's, the anti's or maybe not enough of US being involved in the political process?

Be posting sometime after election day with next 2013-2014 session agenda and the need for your input, with what legislation concepts are you willing to fight for?

    SB273 Needs Your Support!
SB273, a bill which will codify punishment for municipalities that pass ordinances which violate the state's firearms pre-emption statute, has been stalled by Assembly leadership all session. There is a chance TODAY that we can move this bill forward, if we can get support from as many gun owners as possible. Please take a few minutes today to contact the Assembly leadership and urge them to take SB273 off the table!
